Triumph Motor Company was a British car and motor manufacturing company which originated in 1885 when Siegfried Bettmann from Muremberg began imposting bicycles from Europe to sell in London. The trading name became triumph in 1886 and during 1887 Bettmann was joined by a partner, Moritz (Maurice) Schulte. These men started producing their own bicycles in Coventry, England as The Triumph Cycling Co. They began to make Triumph motorcycles in 1902, producing cars from around 1921.
